The KrazyFam took on Annapolis today and braved a trip to attend the raucous Air Force Academy vs. Naval Academy football game. Let's just say it was a wee bit busy there! We had a lot of fun, and learned a few things should we attend another game in the future.
The boys went in full Falcon wear...complete with blue hair and face paint.
We must be going the right way! It took us FOREVER to get off the freeway and into the stadium. Luckily we managed to snag a super close and FREE parking spot.
The midshipmen in formation at the opening of the game. The stadium seats 35,000 and they sold a record number of tickets at 37,000+. Where were all those people sitting you ask??? They were filling every spare inch of area in the endzone/grass seating where we were. :(
As you can see, we were clearly settled on the wrong side! Those are not boys in blue behind me!
When people were actually sitting down, we had a pretty good view of the game. And it was so nice for the kids to have some space to play. Payton befriended the little girls next to us and they played the whole game. :)
Unfortunately, Air Force lost in overtime 16-13, BUT we still had a great time!! Next time, take the shuttle in rather than stay in the traffic line for an hour. Better yet, ride that Air Force bus from Andrews. Buy seats on CraigsList rather than grass tickets.....the grass would be a great place to sit if it weren't oversold. Pass on the blue hair paint...it disappeared by kickoff and then they just had blue scalps. And sit as FAR away from the midshipmen as possible lest you get the stink on ya!
