Collin finished up his Reading Counts program at school today with a Certificate, a free book, and an Ice Cream Party. Reading Counts is a program where they read qualifying books and take a computerized quiz on them after reading. Each book is worth a certain number of points, and if they pass the quiz, they earn the points. We had a personal goal to make it to 100 for the year, and he met that goal several weeks ago. He ended up earning the most points in the class for the year (116), but to be fair, the points don't really mean much. There were a lot of kids who loved this program and just read and quizzed on lower point books all the time. Collin was more interested in the harder, higher point books, which required more time and energy. Regardless, the point of the program is to encourage reading, and that is NEVER a bad thing! Way to go C!!!
