Science Fairs and Half Birthdays

As you all know, it has been a busy week. Here is the latest....

Payton's preschool celebrates 1/2 Birthdays for all the kids who have Birthdays in the summer months. Monday was Payton's day, but since his doctor told us to keep him out of school for the week, we made a special trip to his preschool just to bring in his Birthday treat and say hello to his friends. He chose to make chocolate chip cupcakes with chocolate frosting and colored sprinkles.

Here he is blowing out his candles on the class Birthday cake. His little friends were so happy to see him. He told everyone what had happened to him and was quite the little charmer. No surprise there.....

Then on Tuesday was Collin's big science fair. I was on the organizing committee for the event, and it was a LOT of work and a lot of fun for the kids. This was Collin's first science fair and was a great learning experience. He chose to do his experiment on rust and what liquids will cause a nail to rust more quickly. Here he is explaining his work to our PTA president.

The event is put on by the PTA and is mandatory in the GT classes, but is otherwise optional. There is no judging, just a lot of fun. Everybody got a ribbon!! :)

As for the planning of the event, I am not sure I will be on the committee next year, but it was a good learning experience for me too. :)
